Description:Unleaded, lithium-free and cadmium-free glass enamels for the decoration of hollow-glass and bottles. Borosilicate frit with metal oxide pigments. All standard colours are completely intermixable.
Typical Substrate:Bottles, hollow-glass
Printing Conditions:Recommended mesh size when pasted up in Infra-Red drying medium is 43-77 T (110 – 195 mesh), 90-120T (230 – 300 mesh) for thermoplastic paste.
Firing conditions:620-650ºC (1148-1202ºF), depending on lehr belt speed and soak time.
Chemical Resistance:Acid resistance test results:
  • Passes Coca-Cola ® product requirement:
    "The applied material does not show change in colour nor any loss of gloss after 24 hours in a 2,5% solution (by volume) of phosphoric acid at a temperature ranging between 21ºC and 27ºC."
  • 3.7% HCl, 15 minutes at room temperatureAssessment according to ASTM C724-91
    grade: 1 to 2
  • 10% HCL 20 minutes at room temperature
    Assessment according to ASTM C735-93
    grade: 4 to 5
  • 10% citric acid, 15 minutes at room temperature
    Assessment according to ASTM C 724-91

Alkaline resistance:
  • 10% NaOH 2 hours at 88ºCAssessment according ASTM norm C675-91
    grade: 5 to 6
  • Passes the Coca-Cola ® requirement."After a continuous and uninterrupted immersion in the test solution at 88°C ± 2º for a period of 8 hours, applied material exhibits an appearance of complete opaqueness. Bottles may be withdrawn for examination every 2 hours if relative comparison is required.
    Test solution:
    Sodium Hydroxide 9% by weight
    Tri-Sodium Phosphate 1% by weight
    Distilled Water 90% by weight
Dishwasher resistance:
  • Tested according to Johnson Matthey test specification KC-050.010
    1.5 grams/liter Calgonite solution at 61ºC: Pass > 500 cycles
